DUAL is based on an evolution of the double-wall technology developed by SIMAX. The wall is double for most of the glass, but it joins to a single wall at the top rim. This allows the kettle to use precisely fitting lid but most importantly it makes the glasses much more pleasant to drink from thanks to the uniquely thin edge. The result is then a perfect combination of both: traditional pleasant feel of the thin borosilicate glass and the option to drink very hot or very cold drinks in comfort due to the insulation effect. The overall shape of the collection is characterised by a very gentle angle of the outer wall in combination with the parallel wall inside.

The concept for LIN was to reduce material and form into designs that are balanced, clean and obviously functional. One of design’s key elements is the ability to transcend time periods, places and cultures and LIN is the very embodiment of these values.

The form is all based on straight lines and circles, combining clear borosilicate glass with clear or colored poly-carbonate plastics. The pot lids feature a silicon rim for a perfect secure fit and provide a removable tea filter. Each cup comes with a glass lid that serves to keep the drink hot, but also adds elegant serving possibilities for biscuits, tea bags and sugar. Thanks to the lid the cups also stack very securely with or without the glass saucer. Altogether LIN is the ideal balance of functionality and aesthetics.

LIN is produced from the legendary SIMAX borosilicate glass that provides the same impact resistance as porcelain yet it is thin and light in the hand. SIMAX can handle large temperature differences and it is safely possible to boil water directly in the teapots on a gas or electric stove.

The whole collection is now in production and is reaching global markets throughout 2012 and 2013.

In the middle of September we had the pleasure of exhibiting at Bratislava, next to Ligne Roset and a list of other exciting companies and designers. We received the award for the Best collection.

We exhibited the same lineup of products as in Berlin earlier this year, that is the Poly Series by Martin Žampach and Set 02 by Matej Chabera. Plus we added the Sparcus lamps and some further developments on the Poly series.

Colab 01 has a visual identity designed along the same rules as the products. It is a joint output of Jakub Korous and Matej Chabera.

SIT is a collection of glasses for hot and cold drinks. The SIT glasses are characterised by a smooth concave indent in the wall. This shape of the glass makes each piece in the collection fit wonderfully in the hand. For hot drinks the SIT line-up is available with a silicone grip decorated with a gentle debossed pattern resembling tea leaves or coffee beans. Generous thickness of the grip means that boiling water can be handled safely. The soft material adds protection to the glass when tipped and enables very secure stacking. It is also the obvious colour element in the collection ranging from black and grey to orange, red, green and beige. The key overall feature of the SIT glasses – with and without the grip – is that the two sizes are stackable between each other. Even the large one fits into the small one.

SITs are produced from the legendary SIMAX borosilicate glass that provides the same impact resistance as porcelain yet it is thin and light in the hand. SIMAX can handle large temperature differences and it is safely possible to pour boiling water directly in the glasses.

Collection for serving tea or coffee KON has a minimalistic look ,is very functional and user friendly. It has simple shaping concept. Main rule in here is 5° degree angle which directs whole appearance of the collection. You can see it in main glass parts, glass handles and also in plastic elements of kettle. We have paid big attention to all details and material finishes.

Collection consists of two sizes of kettle with plastic cap and strainer which is locked by bayonet closure so it is easy and fast to take it off and put back again. There are three sizes of glasses, one espresso size, then bigger tea glass and latte macchiato glass. Collection feature also three sizes of bowls, when the middle one is also used for kettle warmer glass. Warmer itself is made of steinless steel and works as an universal product which is possible to use with any kettle from whole SIMAX collection. Warmer could be used with or without glass bowl around.

This is good example of our approach to design universal elements within the collection which will be possible to use in other product lines too without any compromise. It was extremely important for us to design functional and visually appealing products for masses.

SIMAX is traditional Czech brand for heat resistant glass with long tradition and is being sold in more then 50 countries around the world.

Driven process of corroding steel plate makes its appealing texture. Afterwards the surface is treated by clear coating to fix the rust. The segments are connected by magnets, the simplest possible joint which is strong enough to hold full bowl of fruits.

The bowls come in different sizes and proportions. They fit together in several ways to form illusional 2D/3D ornaments. Their simple functionality makes the bowls an ideal table accessory.
