ABOUT
Martin Žampach
An industrial designer graduated from the Secondary Glass Art School. In 2006 he graduated from the Tomas Bata University in Zlín, where he studied Industrial Design, both in the Czech Republic. He also studied Product Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland.
His experience is multi-cultural: he worked for an architecture studio in Londrina, Brazil; for renowned design studio CuldeSac in Valencia, Spain; the biggest design studio in Russia the Art Lebedev Studio from Moscow and he worked as a freelance designer for various clients in the Czech Republic and abroad.
PORTFOLIO
In 2013 his collection of glass Tea and Coffee set KON designed for SIMAX (traditional Czech producer of home and laboratory glass) has received prestigious GOOD DESIGN AWARD by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
In the past Martin has focused his work on glass design, as well as trophies for various clients. His lifestyle collections are playfully inspired by Czech temperament and dialects. He was always interested in new technologies and several years ago he started to study 3D printing methods for prototyping as well as for production – as the result, WAVE, SPIRAL and ZIGZAG vase collections were born.
PORTFOLIO PROTOTYPUM
At present, he emphasizes in his work smart solutions reducing costs by optimizing products for production process. He focuses primarily on the development and innovation in automotive, electronics, IoT and medical sectors. After he worked as a Creative Director for Czech 3D printer developer YSOFT BE3D, co-founded studio PROTOTYPUM in Prague with his colleagues.
PROTOTYPUM is Czech studio focused on industrial design, innovations and prototyping. The core of the studio’s work is based on helping companies to design and develop new products or innovate existing ones from the first sketches to the functional prototypes and manufacturing.
