Layer by Layer – Designblok 2024 Invitation

Layer by Layer – Designblok 2024 Invitation

Martin Žampach

At this year's Designblok I am presenting applications of large format 3D printing in interior and architecture. Composites and recycled materials are transformed into lighting fixtures or interior dividers. Playing with form, shapes and function using additive technologies. The future is additive.

Large format 3D printing is used to create unique interior objects such as interior dividers, light fittings or bar counters. The robotic 3D printer applies the material layer by layer onto the print bed, gradually forming the object.

Geometry. Pattern. Precision. Repetition. Experiment.

Come and see me at my stand in Openstudio, Bastion Florenc, stand H.10 (Křižíkova 2A, Prague 8). Entrance to Openstudio 2.10.-5.10. from 10:00 to 21:00, Sunday 6.10. 10:00-19.00. Tickets here.

Modular panels - Together with Voxell I will present three panel designs WANE, FENCE, PARKET at Designblok and I will open a discussion on the possibilities of cooperation with architects and interior designers. The aim is to inspire the use of the mentioned 3D printing technology in interior design. I believe there is a huge room for innovation and experimentation. Therefore, it opens the imaginary door to co-creation for anyone who wants to push the boundaries. More about panels.

Light fittings for loving bistro - In addition to the panels, I will also present 3D printed light fixtures designed in collaboration with esté architekti for Prague's Loving Bistro. These shades made of composite - a mixture of bio-plastic and wood - were designed and printed with the requirements of the restaurant's demanding operation in mind. They combine a ready-made approach with 3D printing technologies to minimise waste and energy consumption. They will also be on display at Designblok at the Loving bistro, Na Poříčí 25. More about lampshades.

GINIST GREP - Besides my passion for 3D printing, I am also interested in gastronomy. In 2022, I co-founded the GINIST brand, for which I have now designed an original bar counter made of translucent recycled PET-G plastic, which will be on display at the exhibition. GINIST will also bring a GINIST & Friends mini-event to Designblok - come and taste the unique G&T on Friday 4 October and Saturday 5 October from 5pm.

Will we meet at Designblok?
